          Beekbergen is ready for 4 days with the best of driving sport

 

          From 28 to 31 July, the international driving competition will be held on the grounds of Riant Equestrian Centre in Beekbergen. After two years of absence due to the corona pandemic, there is now another three-star competition for pairs and four-in-hands, in which the best drivers in the world will participate. The Dutch championship for four-in-hands and the Dutch championship for Para Equestrians will also be held. It promises to be a versatile equestrian event with top sport, shows and fun.

 

          Organizer Mieke van Tergouw and her team have done a lot of work to create a high-quality event. "We're really looking forward to it," says Mieke. "I am proud that we can once again receive the best drivers in the world and organize the National Championships. This can only be achieved thanks to a number of loyal sponsors and a group of hard-working volunteers." Course builder Johan Jacobs has designed some new obstacles and made some changes to the route of the marathon track. The performance in the obstacles are easy for the public to follow, because they are all located around the main site.

 

          World best drivers

          A strong field of 32 Four-in-Hand drivers will compete. For them, Beekbergen is an important indicator in the run-up to the world championship that will be held in Italy in September. The winner of our previous edition of CAI Beekbergen, the Frenchman Benjamin Aillaud, is also present. In the pair driving, 34 pairs will participate. Among them reigning world champion Martin Hölle, who also won the last edition of CAI Beekbergen. Furthermore, 4 participants will drive the VIP class and 6 Para equestrians will start with a horse single.

 

          Free entrance

          To give everyone the chance to enjoy CAI Beekbergen, admission is free on all days. Thursday 28 and Friday 29 July are all about dressage. On Saturday, July 30, the marathon with spectacular obstacles, such as the water feature, the hill and the completely renewed forest obstacle. Sunday 31 July is the exciting final day. Then the denouement of the match with the cones course as the last part of the competition, is in the main arena. That day there are also surprising shows, including a show of the Veluwe Hunt and harness horses. To give the final day a festive touch, it is 'Ladies day' with the traditional hat competition for women.
